I’ve replaced (or removed) images from my event, but I’m still seeing them when I click Preview in my event. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?
Solution:
It sounds like the images are being cached in your browser. This means that the web browser downloaded a copy of the image(s) to your PC temporarily, and when you preview your event you see the cached or saved version of that image. The best way to fix this issue is to clear out the cached files from your web browser.
If you’re using Internet Explorer version 6:
- Click Tools, then Internet Options.
- On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files… button.
- Check the Delete All Offline Content button, and click OK. You’ll most likely see your cursor change to an hourglass indicating that the cached files are being removed from your PC.
- Depending on how long it has been since your cache was last cleared, this may take from several seconds to a few minutes. When the process is complete your cursor will change back to an arrow.
- Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.
- In order to complete this process you’ll probably want to close and re-open your browser window. If you have more than one browser window open, you’ll need to close all of them to fully clear the cache and see your changes.
If you’re using Internet Explorer version 7:
- Click Tools, then Internet Options.
- On the General tab, under Browsing History, click Delete...
- Next to Temporary Internet Files, click Delete files...
- Click Close, and then click OK to exit.
If you’re using Mozilla Firefox (version 1.5 or newer):
- Click Tools and select Clear Private Data.
- Verify that the checkbox for Cache is selected.
- Click Clear Private Data Now.
- In order to complete this process you’ll probably want to close and re-open your browser window. If you have more than one browser window open, you’ll need to close all of them to fully clear the cache and see your changes.
Additional Information:
Do not select Delete Cookies. Deleting Cookies removes all the cookies stored on the computer.
