Topic:
I just made some changes to the Confirmation (or Reminder) email that my attendees will receive. How do I send myself a copy of it so I can make sure it’s correct?
Solution:
There are a couple of ways to test the Confirmation & Reminder emails. You could enter a test registration, using your own email address when you register. When you complete your registration, the system will send you the same confirmation email that your attendees will receive. However the easiest way is to send yourself a test email directly from the Email Content Editor. This will send you a copy of the content.
To send a test Confirmation Email to yourself without registering:
- Edit your Event
- Locate the Confirmation Email that you wish to test
- The email could be located on the Emails tab or in a specific Registrant Type if you are sending Alternate Confirmation Emails to different types.
- Edit the email content
- In the Content section, enter the email address for the recipient of the test email in the text field provided.
- Click the Test Email button
next to the email address entered. This will send the the test email.
- Review the content of this email and modify it as needed. Note that if you have included merge fields in your reminder email, you will see test information (and not actual database information) in the test email.
Additional Information:
Any changes to your Event should be done while your Event is in Testing status (and not Active status). Entering a test registration for your Event in order to test the confirmation email is completely fine -- it won't cost anything, and is treated as "dummy" info. Do not enter a registration to test the email functionality if your Event is currently in Active status; if you need to modify and test the confirmation email for an Active Event, please use the test email function outlined above.
