Topic:
I'd like to use the Status field to create separate groups of attendees. How do I do that?
Solution:
By default, all of your attendees will be in Confirmed status, but you can change that for either all of your attendees or just for certain Registrant Types. This allows you to set your attendees' registrations to a particular status, such as Pending, until you review their registration. You could specify a status for just a particular Registrant Type so that your Speakers, for example, are set to a certain status until you review their qualifications.
To specify a status for all attendees:
- Edit your Event and click on the Registration Form Pages tab and then the Start page.
- In the Registration Rules section, go to the line that reads "Upon completion of registration, set the initial status to" and choose the appropriate default status for all registrants.
- Save your changes.
To specify a status based on Registrant Type:
- Edit your Event and click on the Registration Form Pages tab and then the Start page.
- In the Registrant Types section, edit the type that you wish to modify. The Define Registrant Type window displays.
- Go to the line that reads "Upon completion of registration, set the initial status to"and choose the appropriate status for this Registrant Type.
- Save your changes.
Additional Information:
Keep in mind that your attendees will not know their status unless you communicate it to them. The status is designed for internal tracking purposes.
Registrations completed using the Self-Registration, or On-Site Kiosk will automatically be changed to an "Attended" status.
