Strange problem with Emergency Contact Phone in Excel output

Hi folks,
Ive just noticed that when you turn on the collect Emergency Contact details and a client adds their contact name, phone etc - something happens when you export to Excel. Ive noticed the same on previous events but put it down to my clumsiness.

With the Main contact info, Cell Phone numbers end up formatted so that it always displays in the Excel sheet as a number and the way it is entered. In the Excel data bar it displays as a ="12345678" type data and in the cell it displays as entered ie 12345678
eg extract of Excel Sheet:

EmergencyContactName	EmergencyContactPhone
Joe Blog	12345
Micky Mouse	4.47877E+11
My Test	12345678
The Phamtom	123456789

But in the Excel data for the emergency phone UNLESS you format that column in the exported report to be "Number" then the phone number is displayed (for me) as a stupid number eg 4.47877E+11 in the cell but is correct in the data bar.
Am I missing something here or doing something wrong. This is just a straight export from a Custom report with selected fields. Surely all phone/cell numbers get formatted the same way - or??
Help please.

Hallo,

I often use the saved passwords of my Firefox browser to see and sometimes erase the passwords...only everytime I must go to Tools - Options - Safety - saved password.
I was arguing if there is a way to insert a link in the toolbar to simplify and speed up this task.

Large and small $0s are appearing uninvited on my agenda form. Any ideas of what this is about? Also the font sizing response is very weird. Jumps up to huge font sizes and won't go back down. The form is unworkable with these glitches.

Transaction Lag / Display Differential

I've had this problem appear intermittently across several events now and it is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Whenever I process a manual transaction - be it an offline check payment, or a credit adjustment, or anything that alters the balance of a registrant - I get inconsistent and oftentimes conflicting data depending on which part of the event system I'm using.

If I look at the registrant's record, the transaction is sometimes there; but if I look at a global report five seconds later, the transactions are missing and balances are incorrect. This has lead me to enter duplicate entries in attempting to force the balance to be correct, but that only compounds the problem later when the system finally displays the original transaction.

It's as if there are different instances of the registrant record sitting out there and frankly this seems so ridiculous that I'm considering dropping RegOnline for this reason alone.

Display Problems with Google Chrome

I am using Google Chrome as my Internet default browser. Unfortunately, the screen does not displays every line (ie list of events, Cross Event reports etc). Is there a fix for this problem?

Integration with Quick Books?

tip: loading data from a text file into mysql

HI guys

Here's an example of loading data from a text file into a mysql database.
This assumes your file is tab delimited, however you can change the SQL command to incorporate different types of delimited text files:

LOAD DATA INFILE '/tmp/add1.txt' IGNORE INTO TABLE accounts FIELDS TERMINATED BY '\t' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' (email, phone, address);

This add1.txt files is a tab delimited file containing email, phone, and addresses. It is terminated by '\t" (tabs) and is newline terminated "\n". The last part of the sql statement (email, phone, address) maps the tab delimited file columns to columns in the database table. Also, I use IGNORE to ignore duplicate entries on keys. You could alternatively use REPLACE.

From an evolutionary perspective, why do women have bosoms?

We've all heard people from time to time in their conversations ask about this riddle. Many say that they're all fat and don't know why men care about them, etc.

This is what some think evolution says, plus some alternative views. I like to test ideas. What's everyone's take on this? :

There is no relationship with bosom size/shape and the amount of baby milk one can produce, and the other primates don't have permanent bosoms like humans do. However, there's a relationship between sexual maturity and size/form (too old and they're not shaped as well and too young, you get the point). Because of this, many zoologists and evolutionary psychologists think they evolved out of sexual selection, just like a male peacock's feathers get in his way but say to the females, "Come here good looking!"

On the other side of the coin, some opponents to sexual selection point out there's no relationship between bosom size and how likely a woman is to get married. They say that if it's sexual selection, then you'd expect it would give a woman an advantage in obtaining a mate. They say most of the time sexual selection is actually in the males in the animal kingdom, since most females who live long enough will mate, while quite a few of the males never get to score (mammals and birds). They also point out how the majority of human females who live long enough find some kind of partner.

So what's your opinion so far? Any insights? Since bosoms are just fat and many social conversations are curious about the answer to this riddle, why do men like them, and why do women have them? Keep in mind there's no relationship between size/milk potential, and also getting married, and the other primates only have them when nursing rather than permanently.

So, what if we were to go at this question from a different angle? I have an idea of my own and a way to make it scientifically falsifiable. I need some feedback here. Here goes .... Women tend to look for men with nice cars and lots of diamonds! Just kidding! I meant there's some interest in resources there. What if it's possible that there was a population bottleneck in the course of human history, some think there was? What if during times of famine having a male partner who had lots of resources had an evolutionary advantage for the woman and her kids? Maybe we could say "Women have permanent bosoms unlike other primates because they gave a distinct sexual selection advantage during times of severe famine because they could get the men with the better resources" rather than just sexual selection, since most who make it to the right age find a mate anyway?

Just like someone tests their car/sink after fixing it, maybe we could test our theory? Any ideas? I think probably the easiest way to make it possible to be falsified would be to see if there's a relationship between bosom shape/size and how much money a woman's husband earns? Yes, I know you couldn't go around doing that. However, just like scientists say there's no relationship between size and milk, maybe those in the "medical field" who handle that could be bribed with research money into testing our idea by doing an extensive survey where they find out how much their patients' husbands make? Although correlation doesn't prove causation, we could control for as many third variables that seem reasonable, and see if there's still the relationship. Although we can't prove, do you think that would make it falsifiable and count as a logical consequence? I was also brainstorming the possibility of looking at genes responsible for permanent bosoms and seeing if the estimation for these certain genes evolving coincide with certain bottleneck/widespread famine dates scientists may be aware of.

Enough about my thoughts, what does everyone else here think about our hypothesis? Any other ideas on why men are attracted to them and why women have them?

For me it happened when I was 8 years old. I was a stubborn kid and for some reason I had decided that I would never learn to read since it pointless to be able to read
christmas time came and one of my sisters bought me a astronomy book as christmas gift and I was imidietly hooked. I was fascinated by it all, black holes, big bang, neutron stars, supernova, galaxies. I couldnt belive stuff like that existed. Since my family got sic of reading from the book to me I forced myself to learn to read as quickly as possible and started going to the library for astronomy books
Right there and then I decided that when I grow up I want to be a astronomer.My passion for physics expanded and from grade 3-7 I read everything I could that wasnt out of my reach mathematicly. But then I got into wrestling and after that bodybuilding and the passion disapered for a few years. the extremely dull and boring high school physics didnt make things better. Hadnt I know that there is more fascinating stuff out there I probably would have been like every other high school kid that hates physics.

Now this last year as I started my second year at university studying physics my passion is back stronger then ever and I hope it will never leave me again

So lets hear your story about how you started to love physics.

Is there a way to change the email address the confirmation email for an event comes from? I've changed the contact address on the event basics page, but the confirmation email still comes from the email our account login uses. Anyone know how to fix this?

QR codes

Is there any way to generate QR codes on badges?

Ideally: I'd like RegOnline to take a url format like "http://my.site.org/%id%" where %id% would be replaced by the registrant's ID, for example, and then insert the corresponding QR code onto the badge. Maybe it would even auto-provision a bit.ly URL or something.

That would be fantastic.

Any chance for a November conference?

Does your system have a plug-in API of some sort so I could do it myself?

Hi,

We are new to using regonline. We want to show events and event entrants on our website http://wdmba.co.uk. I have read the documentation on the API. However I don't full understand it. Our website is wordpress based and it can execute php code in posts.

Could someone please point me in the right direction. I'm not a coder but can do a little php.

I'm looking for some help adding a third party tracking pixel to the confirmation page that will dynamically update with order id, order number, and order total. Our third party contacts say its as simple as pasting code onto the confirmation page, but it needs to be dynamically updated with the order info: (info in brackets should be updated with order details):<img src="https://e.ccialerts.com/a/r2069610016/adage.gif?id=[UNIQUE_ID for transaction]&amount=[TOTAL AMOUNT]&order=[ORDER NUMBER]">

Logo integration

I would very much to like to use my transparent logo as the image I upload. Can this be done? I'd like the background to show, not a white box around my logo that I didn't design in there in the first place.
