Improvements to the RegOnline Builder interface

We have been busy trying to make the event build process even easier to save you time and energy. In the latest release of the RegOnline Builder you can expect to see the following changes:

Consolidated the event emails into one location - the new Emails tab.
Renamed the Welcome page to the Start page and made it the default page when editing your event.
Edit your Registrant Types and Event Basics all on the Start page for easy access to important information.
"Other Settings" is now called "Advanced Settings" and is located under Registration Rules.
Moved the Group Registration options into the Registration Rules section.
Renamed "Additional Fees" to "Merchandise".
Moved the Status Message field from the GoLive & Change Status window onto the Start page.

5 Tips for Better Badges

5 Tips for Better Badges

Tip 1: Use different label stocks. If you don't see your label stock listed in the list of standard stocks, click on the NEW button to enter in your own stock's properties. Consider creating a Full Page custom label to create certificates, schedules, and full page informational sheets for individual attendees.

Tip 2: Spice up your labels with additional standard fields. You can upload photos for each attendee and place their photos on their badge. You can also add a barcode to a badge that will hold personal information for the individual on each specific badge.

Tip 3: Personalize badges for individuals by adding selections made during the registration process. You can add separate custom fields and agenda items to show registrants their selections, or use the Selected Agenda Items List field to show all of the agenda items the registrant selected.

Tip 4: Add images to your badge such as your logo or a background image to add color and depth. Also consider adding a border image to your full page badges for a professional appeal.

Cookin’ with RegOnline

Each year we send out a cookbook full of delightful recipes created by the RegOnline team. This has been a big hit with our clients and we’ve even had some clients suggest that we allow them to submit recipes for our cookbook. Well, you asked and we listened! We are accepting recipe submissions from clients for this year’s edition! Here’s the catch – only the top 10 submissions will make it in. This is what we are looking for:

A deliciously unique recipe
A picture of you with your creation – the sillier the better!
(image file must be of good quality and at least 300 dpi to be considered)
A blurb about who you are and a tidbit about your recipe

To see examples, check out last year’s cookbook online.

How a Little Innovation Turned into BIG Savings for Rod Helm

Rod Helm, Managing Partner of Grant Writing USA, had a decision to make. Find a way to make RegOnline technology work harder for him - or hire more staff to confirm his seminar attendees. He had already automated the registration process, but he needed one more step to get registrants to confirm their attendance.

The " Old Way"
Rod's staff would contact registrants several days prior to the seminar to confirm their attendance. As his business grew, this became a more daunting, time-consuming and expensive task.

The "New Way"
At Rod's request, RegOnline created a special merge field (see below) asking registrants to "click to confirm" their attendance, which he includes in the automated reminder email.

The Results
Rod's team went from attempting to call 100% of registrants to just 29% because over seventy percent of registrants self-confirmed. Plus, it's not uncommon to experience 100% self-confirmations - without a single phone call!

The team can now focus in on the "suspect" registrants. This one modification saved countless man hours, the cost of the phone calls and the cost of adding another staff person. Plus, Grant Writing USA experiences a negligible no-show factor meaning fewer refunds, fewer changes and more revenue.

Adding this time saver couldn't be easier!
In your reminder email, simply select the merge field "Confirm Registration" from the "Other Merge Codes" drop down menu in the HTML email editor. And be sure to change the default registration status per the guidelines below:

If you have Registrant Types

Change default status in "Registration Types" tab to "Pending" for each type.

If there are NO Registrant Types

Change the default status in Attendee Info tab to "Pending"

When the registrant clicks the "Confirm" link in the email, RegOnline automatically changes their status from "Pending" to "Confirmed".

Here's an excerpt from Grant Writing USA's reminder email:

"Dear (registrant),

This a reminder that you are registered for the Grant Writing USA event listed below.

One click is all it takes to confirm your intent to attend: Click Here
NOTE: The link should only be used to CONFIRM that you plan to attend."

Reg-Count Addicts get their Fix While on the Road

Shawn Collins runs the world's largest affiliate marketing summit and is constantly on the road. It would be a challenge to keep on top of his event statistics except for the help of advancing technology. He uses the web browser on his Blackberry phone to get registration counts and revenue updates from his RegOnline account while he travels.

"Accessing my event data via my Blackberry has assisted me in becoming more efficient - I travel regularly, so it's a big help to be able to check in during meetings, errands, etc.", says Collins.

The Event Snapshot report is what he counts on for up-to-the-minute information. He can see total revenue, new registrations, total registrations and any cancellations that may have come in while he was away.

How to View Reports via your Phone

1. Simply launch your web browser on your phone.
2. Enter regonline.com/Login.
3. View your event homepage and your event statistics
(see photo example to the right).

RegOnline is looking into a PDA version that is specifically designed to accommodate small phone screens. If you access your reports via your phone currently, feel free to send your suggestions to us on how to make it easier for you.

One-click Travel Planning for Your Registrants
New Orbitz.com™ integration simplifies the registration and travel booking process

Travel to your event just got easier for your registrants. Direct access to Orbitz.com allows them to book their flight, hotel and car rental while it's fresh in their mind.

The Orbitz search box (see right) is prepopulated with the origin, destination and travel dates. A click of the "Find" button and the travel search begins.

This easy access provides greater satisfaction, which can lead to more referrals and repeat attendance at your next event.

Adding Orbitz to your registration form is easy. In fact, any event created after May 23, 2006, will automatically show the Orbitz search box on the confirmation screen. To remove the Orbitz search box, simply go to the Advanced Options tab and uncheck the "Orbitz Search Box". Please note, any travel arrangements made on Orbitz.com by your registrants are not stored by RegOnline.
