Setting up a CyberSource gateway
Solution:
If you do not already have a CyberSource merchant account gateway you can set one up by contacting your bank or going to the CyberSource web site (www.cybersource.com).
CyberSource processes credit card transactions for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover cards, which are the same cards supported by RegOnline. For pricing information and other account setup details, please contact CyberSource.
Once your CyberSource account has been set up, RegOnline will need the following information to connect the gateway:
- Your CyberSource Merchant ID number – This is required and validated with CyberSource
- Statement Name – This should match the credit card statement name that you have entered in your Cybersource Merchant Gateway account.
- If you wish to change the name that appears on your registrants' credit card statements, then you will want to change the name in your Merchant Gateway Account and here in RegOnline.
- Your CyberSource digital certificate – This is a file with a ".p12" extension, which you can retrieve from your CyberSource account.
- Note: Please be sure that you send the certificate file in .p12 format, and not .asp format which will be rejected by our servers.
- Credit Card Types - The credit card types (Visa, Amex, etc.) that your Cybersource gateway is set up to process.
- Go to the CyberSource web site and sign on to your account.
- Go to Settings and then Transaction Security Keys, and then click on Generate Key.
- Save this key file to your computer and then email it to us as a file attachment.
You can submit this information to MerchantInfo@Regonline.com, along with the RegOnline customer number(s) that you wish to connect to this gateway. We will enter this information into your RegOnline account and contact you when the setup is complete. Once this is done and tested, all of your RegOnline events can use the same CyberSource account to process online credit card transactions.

Fees:
- There are no account setup fees and no monthly charges.
- There is a 0.95% transaction fee for all online credit card transactions.
- This fee will be billed to you by RegOnline in addition to any fees billed to you by CyberSource.
- Online credit card refunds are considered an online transaction and therefore are subject to the normal transaction fees.
- These fees are valid for any gateway setup after September 26th, 2008. For older gateways, contact your sales representative for pricing information.
Cybersource may change the appearance of their website interface. Therefore these steps may not be entirely accurate but should be used as a guideline for obtaining your account information. If you find that this information is not correct or you are having trouble uploading your certificate file, please contact the CyberSource support team for assistance.
