Setting up a Payflow Pro gateway

    Topic:

Setting up a Payflow Pro gateway

    Solution:

You can add your own Payflow Pro gateway in your RegOnline account. To add a Payflow Pro gateway:

    1. On the Account tab, click the Merchant Gateways link.
    2. Click the Add Merchant Gateway link. The Merchant Gateway Setup window displays.
    3. Make the following entries:
      • Description – The name to display in your list of gateways
      • Gateway – PayFlow Pro
      • Statement Name – This should match the credit card statement name that you have entered in your Payflow Pro Merchant Gateway account.
        • If you wish to change the name that appears on your registrants' credit card statements and receipts, then you will want to change this name in your Merchant Gateway Account and here in RegOnline.
      • User - Your Payflow Pro User name, if applicable. If you do not have a User, enter your Payflow Pro Login, described below.
      • Payflow Pro Login – The login that you use to sign on to your Payflow Pro account.
        • Note: This is the login name that you use for your initial account login, and not the vendor management login name.
      • Payflow Pro Password – The password for your Payflow Pro account
      • Payflow Pro Partner – The partner you use for Payflow Pro account, such as 'Verisign' or 'PayPal'
      • Merchant Account Currency – Select the default currency to use when processing transactions with this merchant account.
        • This entry can be overridden in the setup for your events.
      • Set as Default Merchant Account – Check this box to use this merchant account as the default for your events.
        • This entry can be overridden in the setup for your events.
    4. Select the card types you wish to process. Selecting a card type does not verify that the card type is processing correctly, it simply makes the option for that card type appear on the Checkout page of your event.
    5. Click OK to save your changes.
    6. Optional, but strongly recommended: Verify that each card type is processing correctly by clicking the Verify Credit Card Processing icon in the Actions column. Select the card type you wish to verify, enter your credit card information and click Verify Card to process a transaction through your merchant gateway. If the transaction is unsuccessful, the error message returned by your gateway will display in the top left corner of the window. If the transaction is successful, you have confirmed that the selected card type is processing correctly through your gateway.
    7. Before you begin processing credit card payments, you will need to connect your event to the new gateway. Click here for detailed instructions.

    Additional Information:

    Fees:

    • There are no account setup fees and no monthly charges.
    • There is a 0.95% transaction fee for all online credit card transactions.
      • This fee will be billed to you by RegOnline in addition to any fees billed to you by Payflow Pro.
      • Online credit card refunds are considered an online transaction and therefore are subject to the normal transaction fees.
    • These fees are valid for any gateway setup after September 26th, 2008. For older gateways, contact your sales representative for pricing information.

About your Payflow Pro Gateway login and password -

    • When you first opened your Payflow account, you also created a gateway login and password. Once you have opened your account, you have the option of creating user or manager logins and passwords. If you create additional users or manager logins then your initial login automatically becomes your gateway login/password.
    • If you change your Payflow Pro password for any reason, be sure to update your password here, in the Payflow Pro Password field described above. If this password is not updated, your transactions will not process.
    • If you are not sure which login is the gateway login, you can contact the PayPal Customer Service Center or refer to the PayPal Knowledge Base for assistance.

    Other Payflow Pro considerations -

    • Be sure that you do not have any fields set to be required in your Payflow Pro account. RegOnline transmits the appropriate fields of data to your gateway, but if you require a field that we do not pass your charges will not process.
    • If you would like the ability to enter online refunds, you will need to have this functionality enabled in your account with Verisign.
    • While your event is in testing status, you cannot use a real credit card on a test registration. For test purposes, you can use card number 4111111111111111 (that is, a 4 followed by 15 1’s) and any expiration date in the future. Test registrations must be under $1000. More Test Card Numbers...
    • You cannot complete a credit card test registration if you have required the CVV code in your event setup. If you will require the CVV code field for your event, you’ll need to un-check this option in your event (Checkout page, Credit Card Processing Options section), run the test, and then go back into your event setup and re-check this field.
    • If you need to contact Tech Support at Verisign/PayPal, you can do so at 888/883-9770.

About IP restrictions in your Payflow Pro account -

You have the ability to restrict API access in your Payflow Pro account by IP address as an added security measure. If you have entered any IP address restrictions in your Payflow Pro account setup, then you will need to add RegOnline's server IP's to your Payflow Pro account or you will receive transaction errors when processing credit card transactions.

    RegOnline's Server IP addresses are:

    65.103.98.189
    65.103.98.161
    65.103.98.186
    72.18.216.97
