How to create a Custom Report (7 minutes)

Solution:
Custom reports enable you to display only those records that you want to see and then display just the fields you want to see in that report. For example, suppose you only want to see those records where the attendee plans to attend a Gala Dinner. In this case, you might set up a filter for your report to display just those records where the attendee has checked the “Gala Dinner” checkbox. You can also determine which fields to display for those records – perhaps the attendee’s first name, last name, meal preference, and so on.
To create a custom report:
- On the Events tab, click the Title of the desired event. The Events Page will appear.
- Click the Reports link, then click the Create a New Custom Report button. The Edit Custom Report window will display.
- Enter a name for this report in the Report Name field, then click Apply to save and stay.
- Click the Fields tab heading. Select the fields you want to display from the left side (Choose Fields) box, then click the right arrow (>) to move them to the right side (Current Field Choices).
- After you’ve select the Standard Fields you want, click the radio buttons for Custom Fields, Event Fees & Agenda Items, and or Other Fees, and select these fields the same way. Click Apply when you’ve finished.
- Click the Filters tab heading and enter any filtering criteria for your report, and click Apply when you’ve finished. More info on filtering custom reports...
- Click the Sorting and Grouping tab heading if you need to sort or group your report results by specific criteria. More info on grouping...
- Click OK to save and close your custom report.

Note: If an attendee is in the process of updating their own registration record when you run a report, then they may not show up on the report that you are running.
