How do I customize the incomplete registration email the attendee receives?

    Topic:

How do I customize the incomplete registration email the attendee receives?

    Solution:

By default, when a registrant starts but doesn’t complete their registration, they will receive an email that includes a link to “Click here to try again”. You can modify this email (or set up your Event to not send this email, if you’d like).

    To do this:

    1. Edit your Event and click on the Emails tab.
    2. In the New Registration section, under the heading "When a Registration does not complete their Registration"
      • Select the checkbox titled Send a notification email to the registrant
      • Click on this text link to modify the content of this email.
    3. Save your changes when finished.

    Additional Information:

A registration is considered incomplete when a person starts to register but does not finish. If this person enters an email address and clicks the Continue button on the first registration page, but for any reason does not complete that registration, it will be flagged as incomplete after a set time-out period (default time-out period is 60 minutes). See the related links for modifying this time-out period.

Typical reasons for an incomplete registration include:

    • The user closes their browser window and ends their session
    • The user’s credit card was denied - if the user’s credit card transaction is denied and they have no other form of payment, many users will just close their browser
    • The system times out - if a user starts to register, but doesn’t click any buttons in the form until the system times out.
