Topic:
What are Registrant Types, and how do I add a new one to my Event?
Solution:
Registrant Types (or reg types) are a key to the RegOnline system. They enable you to create separate categories of registrants, and then display different options to each category. For example, if you are putting together a charity golf outing, you may decide to create Registrant Types for Golfers, Sponsors, Donation Only, and perhaps a handful of others. Then when you create Registration Fees, Custom Fields, and Agenda Items, you can display different pricing, questions, etc. based on their Registrant Type. In this case, if an attendee registers as a golfer, for instance, you may want to know if they need to rent clubs, what time they’d like to tee off, etc. If an attendee chooses Donation Only, you won’t need to gather this information since they’re just making a donation to this charity.
By creating different Registrant Types for each of these categories of registrants, you will be able to display or hide various Fees, Custom Fields, and/or Agenda Items to each type.
To add a new Registrant Type:
- Edit your Event
- Click on the Registration Form Pages and then the Start page.
- Click the Add Registrant Types link. (this will open the Define Registrant Type window)
- Make the following entries:
- Name on Form (required) - the name for this reg type that your attendees will see
- Name on Reports (required) - the name for this reg type that displays on your reports
- See the related links below for more advanced options for Registrant Types
- Save your changes.
Additional Information:
Your Registration Type fees will always override the Event Fee setup on the Start page.
