Why is the Field Type grayed out in my Agenda Item or Custom Field?

Solution:

Once an attendee has registered for a particular Agenda Item / Fee - whether it’s a test registration or a real one - the Field Type is “grayed out” and will not allow you to change it or delete the item.

If your event has not gone Active yet, you will need to delete test registrations before you can change the Agenda Item / Fee or Custom Field - See the related links for further assistance. Once that’s done you should be able to change the Field Type for your Agenda Items and Custom Fields -

1. Click on the Agenda page to locate your Agenda Item
2. Click to Edit the Agenda Item you want to modify, change the Field Type, and save your changes.

If your event is Active, there are a number of steps to follow in order to change the Field Type. First, you’ll need to make a copy of that Agenda Item/fee, modify the copy to reflect the correct Field Type, save your changes, then modify the original Agenda Item / Fee so that it does not display on the registration form. You’ll also want to move the attendee(s) who registered for the original Agenda Item / Fee from the original item to the new one.

To make the current Agenda Item/fee not visible to the attendee:

1. Edit your Event
2. Click on the Agenda page
3. Edit the Agenda Item/fee you want to modify. Agenda Item Details window displays.
   • If you have set up Registrant Types in your Event, go to the Visible/Required section and clear all of the checkboxes.
   • If you do not have Registrant Types in your Event, then clear the Visible checkbox.
4. Save your changes.
