Can I set up my event so the attendee's credit card is not charged when they register?

    Topic:

I need to review (and/or confirm) my attendees before they should be charged the registration fee. Can I set my event to not charge their credit card at the time of their registration?

    Solution:

Yes! You can set up your event so that their credit card is not charged at the time they register, and then process the payments for these attendees at a time of your choosing. To enable this functionality:

    1. Edit your event and click the Registration Form Pages tab
    2. Select the Checkout page.
    3. Select the checkbox titled Do Not Charge Credit Card on Initial Registration.
      • Verify that Store credit card numbers after initial payment processing is selected.
    4. Save your changes.

    Additional Information:

If you elect to use this option for your event, you (the event administrator) will need to go into each attendee record for this event and process their payment. This will not be done automatically. Show me how...

When credit card numbers are stored after initial registration, they are encrypted – that is, the card number displays as a series of asterisks followed by the last four digits. Credit card numbers are only stored for 90 days after your event is over (or if there is no event end date, 120 days after the transaction occurs), at which point the number is erased from our database.
