    How do I create a custom confirmation email by registrant type?

    Topic:

    I'd like to send a different Confirmation (or Reminder) email to some Registrant Types for my event, such as VIPs. How do I set that up?

    Solution:

    By default, an email is sent to all of your registrants once they've completed their registration. This email, called the Confirmation email, is set up under the Emails tab in the Event Builder. You also have the option to send a Reminder email to your registrants at a specified time before your event. This email can also be modified.

    You also have the option to override this email for certain Registrant Types. This means that if you specify an alternate Confirmation email for a Registrant Type, the alternate email is sent in place of the default one for that type. For example, suppose your event has Registrant Types for Members, Non-Members, and Students. When you create an alternate Confirmation email for Members, then your Members receive the alternate email and your Non-Members and Students receive the default email created on the Emails tab.

    To specify an alternate Confirmation email for a Registrant Type:

    1. Edit your Event and click on the Registration Form Pages tab then Start page.
    2. Edit the Registrant Type that you wish to receive an Alternate Confirmation email. The Define Registrant Type window displays.
    3. Click on the Advanced heading to open that section.
    4. Click the link to Use the same Confirmation email that's set up at the event level to change this setting and use a different email. This will open the email editor window to compose your email.
    5. Select the checkbox to Send this confirmation email instead of the event level confirmation email.
    6. Click the Edit button to enter the content for this Confirmation email.
      • You can also Preview the email as it would look to registrants. Fake registrant data will be merged into the preview mode.
      • To test the email simply enter your email address and click the click the Test Email button to send a copy of this email to yourself (or another email address if desired).
    7. Save your changes when finished.

    To specify an alternate Reminder email for a Registrant Type:

    You can setup separate Reminder emails to send to various Registrant Types in the Reminder & Follow-up emails feature located on the Functions tab of the Event Dashboard. See the Related Links below for assistance using the Multiple Reminder & Follow-up Emails feature.
