Setting up a Moneris Gateway
Solution
Moneris processes credit card transactions for Visa / MasterCard (U.S. & Canadian Dollars), and American Express (Canadian Dollars only). The supported currencies for a Moneris gateway are Canadian and U.S. Dollars. See additional information below for further details.
In order to connect your RegOnline account to this Gateway you must have a Moneris e-Select Plus account . For pricing information and other account setup details, please contact Moneris Support or Sales department.
Once your Moneris e-Select Plus gateway has been set up, RegOnline will need the following information:
- Statement Name – This should match the credit card statement name that you have entered in your Moneris Merchant Gateway account.
- If you wish to change the name that appears on your registrants' credit card statements and receipts, then you will want to change this name in your Merchant Gateway Account and here in RegOnline.
- Store ID
- API Token
- Credit Card Types - The credit card tpyes (Visa, Amex, etc.) that your Moneris gateway is set up to process.
You can submit this information to merchantinfo@Regonline.com, along with the RegOnline customer number(s) that you wish to connect to this gateway. We will enter this information into your RegOnline account and contact you when the setup is complete. Once this is done and tested, all of your RegOnline events can use the same Moneris account to process online credit card transactions.

Fees:
- There are no account setup fees and no monthly charges.
- There is a 0.95% transaction fee for all online credit card transactions.
- This fee will be billed to you by RegOnline in addition to any fees billed to you by Moneris.
- Online credit card refunds are considered an online transaction and therefore are subject to the normal transaction fees.
- These fees are valid for any gateway setup after September 26th, 2008. For older gateways, contact your sales representative for pricing information.
Does Moneris support US dollars?
- Yes, Moneris can process in U.S. currency, however some restrictions apply. Your transactions must settle to either the RMC (Royal Bank of Canada) or the BMO (Bank of Montreal). Please contact Moneris customer service for further details.
Does Moneris support American express cards?
- Yes, they do support American Express for Moneris gateways set up for Canadian Currencies.
If you do not already have a Moneris e-Select Plus account, then you can set one up by contacting Moneris's customer support.
