Topic:
How do I allow my attendees to upload a file into their registration record?
Solution:
You can set up a Custom Field or Agenda Item / Fee that prompts your registrants to upload a document to their registration record. Once their registration is complete, you can then view or download the file that they have uploaded from their registration record (or from a Custom Report).
To create a File Upload field in your Event:
- Edit your Event and click on the Registration Form Pages tab
- Depending on where you want to add this custom field (Personal Information, Agenda, or Lodging & Travel), navigate to that page.
- Click on the Add a New Custom Field (or Agenda Item / Fee) link or edit an existing item.
- Change the Field Type field to "File Upload"
- Enter the remaining information for your item, and save your changes.
- See the related links for further assistance creating a Custom Field or Agenda Item / Fee.
To view the file that an attendee has uploaded:
- Go into an attendee’s registration record and click on the appropriate section (Custom Fields, Agenda Items, etc.) where you added that field.
- You will see the text that you entered in that field’s "Title on receipt/invoice" along with an icon for that file.
- Click the icon for that file to open/view the file.
Additional Information:
- Photos uploaded using the File Upload field type
on custom fields and Agenda Items can not be displayed on Labels,
Badges, or Directories.
- The File Upload field type allows the attendee to upload a document, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, text, or image file to their registration record.
- Valid field types for upload are .doc,.xls, .ppt, .pdf, .txt, .csv, .jpg, and .gif files.
- Maximum file size allowed for upload is 300KB (0.3 MB).
