Topic:
How do I view all of the incomplete or abandoned registrations for my registration form?
Solution:
Incomplete registrations are registrants that started the registration process but did not finish for some reason. An incomplete registration is created when the time-out period for your registration form has been reached before the registrant completes their registration. For example, if someone closed their web browser or navigated away from the registration form before they finished the registration process, then an incomplete registration will be generated once the time-out period has been reached.
- Abandoning the registration process at any point after entering an email address on the Start page and prior to clicking on the "Finish My Registration" button on the Checkout (or Payment) page will generate an incomplete registration.
You can view the incomplete registration records for a particular registration form by running either the RegAnalytics report or the Incomplete Registrations report from the Dashboard in the RegOnline Manager. The RegAnalytics report will display the number of registrants that did not complete the registration process** (as well as other useful information). From the RegAnalytics report you click on the total number of incomplete registrations to run the Incomplete Registrations report.
To run the Incomplete Registrations report directly from your account:
- Locate and select your event.
- At the bottom of the Manager screen click on the Standard Reports tab from the Dashboard.
- Click on the Incomplete Registrations report located in the Main reports list. The report will run in HTML format in a new window.
- You can click on the Filter link next to the report name to add filtering criteria or to run the report in a different format.
Once you have run this report you can email the individuals directly from the report by selecting the desired attendees and clicking on the Send Email button. This will allow you to select email content that you have previously built in the RegMail section or simply create a new email to send.
Additional Information:
** The number of incomplete or abandoned registrations listed on the RegAnalytics report may not match exactly to the number of incomplete registrations on the Incomplete report. This is because the RegAnaytics report will always show you the total number of incomplete registrations (including duplicate attempts), and the Incomplete report will only show you unique registrants that did not complete a registration (even if they attempted multiple times).
Notification Emails:
You can also set up your event(s) to send you (and your registrants) an email notification whenever an incomplete registration occurs. This will send you (the primary contact for this event) an email with contact information about the incomplete registration.
To enable this functionality:
- Edit your event, and click on the Emails tab.
- In the New Registrant column there is an section titled When a registrant does not complete their registration. Select the checkbox titled Email you a notification.
- You can click on this link to modify some of the notification settings such as sending the notification to multiple email addresses or sending the notification as a daily summary.
- Save your changes.
- You will now receive an email every time someone does not complete a registration. The email will include any basic information entered during the incomplete registration – if there is no information about the individual in the email then none was entered.
You should also enable the option to email the registrant when they do not complete their registration. This will let them no that they did not finish the registration process and give the a link to try again.
- Follow the steps above and select the checkbox titled Send a notification to the registrant.
- Click on the link to edit the notification email content that the registrants will receive.
- Save your changes.
