I'd like to have RegOnline collect credit card payments for me. How does that work? How do I get started?
Solution:
RegOnline automatically provides you with the RegOnline Gateway when you open your account. If you use this service to process credit card payments online, then we will send you a check each month for the prior month’s transactions, less any money owed to RegOnline. See the Additional Information below for details...
Currently we can process the following currencies using the Regonline Gateway:

If you open your account through www.regonline.com the US dollar RegOnline Gateway will be added to your account.
If you open your account through www.regonline.ca the Canadian dollar RegOnline Gateway will be added to your account.
If you open your account through www.regonline.co.uk you will pick your default currency and the RegOnline Gateway will be added to your account using the selected currency.

Enable Credit Card Processing for Your Event:
The RegOnline Gateway is automatically added to your account when your account is opened. This will allow you simply enable credit card processing for an event in your account.
To do this:
- Edit your Event.
- Click on the Registration Form Pages tab and then click on the Checkout page.
- Select the checkbox to Collect Payment Information. A number of additional fields will display on the page.
- Select the radio button titled Accept Credit Cards Online.
- Make sure that the Merchant gateway field lists the "RegOnline Merchant Gateway".
- In the field titled Description on credit card statement enter the description that you would like to appear on your registrants' credit card statements.
- Select the credit card types (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.) that you wish to accept for your event.
- Save your changes. Your event is now set up for online credit card processing.
- When you're ready to go live or activate your event, you'll be prompted to enter your complete billing information. More info...
Additional Information:
Fees:
- There are no account setup fees and no monthly charges.
- There is a 4.95% transaction fee for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover transactions.
- Online credit card refunds are considered another transaction and therefore the normal transaction fees, depending on the card type, will apply.
- There is a $15 chargeback fee if your registrant contests the charge.
- Collected amounts are paid by check monthly. RegOnline collects these funds and sends a check to you on the 10th of the month for the prior month’s transactions, less any money owed to RegOnline.
- Checks are made out to the company name you opened your account with; any modifications must go through your Client Service Representative or email the general sales department at advisor@regonline.com.
- The check will be mailed to the Billing Contact Address listed in your account. You can view and edit this address from the Manage Account window. More info...

Additional Notes:
- In order to process a refund using the RegOnline Gateway, the total funds you have collected for the current month must be greater than the amount to be refunded.
- For example: You have an ongoing event and collected $30,000 in credit card payments in the month of March. It is now April and you have only collected $300.00 so far. If a registrant cancels and you wish to process a refund in the amount of $500.00 – you will not be allowed because the amount to be refunded is greater than the amount of credit card payments you have collected in the current month. You will need to wait until you have collected more credit card payments in the current month or process the refund by check. - Your organization’s name or the name of your event displays on the cardholder's statement.
- Do not charge surcharges - Always treat a credit card transaction like any other transaction; that is, you may not impose any surcharge on a credit card transaction.
- RegOnline reserves the right to deny our merchant gateway and account services if certain criteria are not met.
