What information is shown in the Registration Analytics report?

    Topic:

I want to track or analyze the traffic (hit counts) to my Event Registration form. What information is shown in the Registration Analytics report?

    Solution:

The Registration Analytics Report is a web traffic report designed to show you how visitors found out about your web site. That means that for your RegOnline Event (or other registration form type), you can now see statistics on:

    • The completion percentage for your Event (that is, the percent of all site visitors who completed their registration) and the web page they came from;
    • The average length of time it took your attendees to register for your Event,
    • The last web page your visitors were on before going to your Event web site,
    • For incomplete registrations, the page on which the registrant abandoned, and more...

Summary of Completed Registration – Displays an overview of the completed registrations for your Event (or other registration form type).

    • Top Referrer - This is the URL where the majority of your completed registrations originated from.
    • Top Tracking Code - The tracking code that was used for the majority of your completed registraitons. See the Tracking Codes section below for more information.
    • Top Parameter - The URL parameter that was used for the majority of your completed registrations. See the Query String Parameters section below for more information.

Summary of Incomplete Registration – Displays information about the incomplete registrations for your Event.

    • You can click on this total to run the Abandoned Registrations report in order to view all of these individuals and contact them if needed.
    • The total number of incomplete registrations listed on the RegAnalytics report will always include duplicate attempts, where the Abandoned Registration report will only display a registrant one time even if they abandonded the registration process multiple times. Therefore the incomplete registration totals may not match on these two reports.

Completion by Referrer pie chart – Displays the information in the Referrers section (described below) in graphical format.

Referrers – Provides a listing of the web sites your attendees came from. This information can be used to determine which links to your RegOnline form are generating the most registrations.

Tracking Codes – For customers using an affiliate marketing program, this section allows you to track the effectiveness of various business promotions such as email campaigns. More on Tracking Codes...

    • For example: If you added a link on a website directing registrants back to your registration form that included a tracking code, then the codes used in these URLs will be displayed in this section.
    • Sample URL with a tracking code: www.regonline.com/checkin.asp?eventID=<EventID>&trackingcode=<trackingcode>

Querystring Parameters – Displays a list of all unique query strings (name-value pairs) in the URL's that your your registrants used to navigate to your registration form.

    • All attendees with a URL containing the exact same querystring display on the same line.
    • All attendees with a URL containing a unique querystring display on separate lines in this section, even if the string contains some of the same name-value pairs as other query strings.

    Additional Information:

The Registration Analytics report can be run from the Reports section of the Events Page.

The report link displays only for Events that have been activated after March 15, 2007, which is the date when RegOnline began collecting registration traffic data.
