Topic:
I need to allow my attendees a way to contact me with questions, but I don’t want my email address to be visible on the Internet. How do I set that up?
Solution:
RegOnline does virtually everything we can to keep your information safe and secure. This applies equally to financial transactions, your attendees’ information, and your contact information as well.
To protect your contact information, you can “hide” your email address from the public Internet but still allow your attendees to email you if they have any questions about your event.
To do this:
- Edit your Event and click on the Start page.
- In the Event Basics section, make the following entries:
- Contact email address- Enter the email address you would like to use as the main contact address for this event.
- Save your changes.
What your attendees see as they register -
- To register for your event, your attendees need to enter their email address, make a couple of selections (based on your event’s exact setup) on the Start page, and then click the Continue button. Once they have done so, they are in a secured (https://…) connection for the remainder of their registration.
- At the bottom of this page, there is a link titled Contact Info. When clicked, a small window opens and displays the contact details and an Email Link.
- If you wish to change the contact details for your event, then you can access this information and modify it on the Event Website tab, Contact Information section.
- When the attendee clicks the Send Email link, a new window opens with an online form that sends an email directly to the primary contact email address specified in the Primary Contact Email field.
Additional Information:
Your email address and other contact information are only visible to your registrants after they have started the registration process and are in a secured (https://…) connection. The Contact Info link in the footer of your registration pages is not available on the Start Page or the Event Website, which are non-secure pages.
