I would like to have RegOnline collect credit card payments for me in Non-US Dollars. How do I get started?
A new feature has been added! If you opened your account after to August 22, 2008 RegOnline has automatically provided you with our International RegOnline Gateway! If you opened your account prior to this date please contact our Sales Office in the UK at: 0800 7313690 or advisor@regonline.co.uk to add the International RegOnline Gateway to your account.
Solution:
RegOnline automatically provides you with the International RegOnline Gateway when you open your account from www.regonline.co.uk. During the open account process, you can pick your default billing currency and our International Merchant Gateway will be added to your account using the selected currency. If you use this service to process credit card payments online, then we will send you money each month for the prior month’s transactions, less any money owed to RegOnline. You can use the International RegOnline Gateway to process credit card transactions in the following currencies:
Step 1: Enable Credit Card Processing for Your Event
Once you're approved and the International RegOnline Gateway has been connected to your account, then you will need to set up your event for online credit card processing.
To do this:
- Edit your Event.
- Click on the Registration Form Pages tab and then click on the Checkout page.
- Select the checkbox to Collect Payment Information. A number of additional fields display on the page.
- Select the radio button titled Accept Credit Cards Online.
- Make sure that the Merchant gateway field lists the "RegOnline Merchant Gateway".
- In the field titled Description on credit card statement enter the description that you would like to appear on your registrants' credit card statements.
- Select the credit card types (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.) that you wish to accept for your event.
- See the Additional Information below concerning supported card types for each currency.
- Save your changes. Your event is now set up for online credit card processing.
Step 2: Process Test Registrations
Now that your event is setup for credit card processing, you should complete a few test registrations to verify the payment or checkout process for your event. While your event is in Testing status, no credit card transactions will actually be processed through the Merchant Gateway. Therefore, you can use a test credit card number or a real credit card number to complete a test registration and no charges will be processed.
Step 3: Enter your banking information (non-USD currencies only)
In order to receive the funds that are collected by RegOnline for your credit card transactions processed in non-US dollars, you will need to enter the banking account information where you would like to receive your funds. You will be prompted to enter your banking information when you Activate your first event. See the Additional Information below for further assistance.

You can only accept one currency per RegOnline Account or Sub-Account.
- For example: You can not process Euros and British Pounds in the same account.
- For each currency that you will need to accept you will need a separate RegOnline Account (or Sub-Account). Show me how..
Supported Credit Card Types:
- Visa and Mastercard are accepted by all supported currencies.
- American Express is only accepted by USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, and CHF currencies.
- Switch, Maestro and Solo are only accepted in GBP.
Fees:
- There are no account setup fees and no monthly charges.
- There is a 3.95% transaction fee for Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Maestro and Solo transactions.
- There is a 4.95% transaction fee for American Express.
- Online credit card refunds are considered an online transaction and therefore are subject to the normal transaction fees.
- There is a $15 chargeback fee if your registrant contests the charge.
Banking and Billing Information:
Collected amounts (in non-USD currencies) are paid by electronic transfer (EFT) directly to your bank account on or after the 10th of each month. RegOnline collects these funds and transfers them to your bank account each month for the prior month’s transactions in the currency in which they were processed (less any fees charged by RegOnline).

- If you wish to have your RegOnline fees (such as registration fees, credit card transaction fees, etc.) invoiced or billed to you each month instead of having them deducted from your online credit card transactions, then please contact the RegOnline billing department.
- Each RegOnline Account/Sub-Account will be billed separately in the currency that you are using.
- For example: If you are processing transactions in Euros then RegOnline will bill your account in Euros. If you wish to use a different currency for a different event, then another sub-account will need to be opened.
