How do I let attendees confirm their own registration?

    Topic:

My registrants are not confirmed after completing their registration. How do I allow registrants to confirm their own registration?

    Solution:

If you have set up your event so that registrants are set to a registration status other than "Confirmed" upon completion of their registration (such as "Pending", "Follow-up", etc.), then you can allow registrants to confirm their own registration by clicking a link from an event level email (such as a reminder email). When registrants click the Confirmation link provided to them, then their status will be changed to "Confirmed". This is a great way to allow attendees to confirm their own attendance after they have registered online.

To provide a Confirmation link in an email:

    1. Locate the email content where you wish to add the Confirmation link.
      • For example: You can set up a new email or edit your existing reminder email in the Reminder & Follow-up emails section located on the Functions tab for your event.
    2. Edit the email content to open the HTML Content editor.
    3. Place your cursor where you want the link to appear in your email and select the Confirm Registration merge code from the Other Merge dropdown menu. A new merge code will be inserted into the email content (/*RegConfirm: Click Here*/).

The attendee can simply click on the Click Here text when they receive the email to change their status to "Confirmed". If their registration status is already "Confirmed", then the link will not make any further change to their registration record.

    Additional Information:

This merge code (/*RegConfirm: Click Here*/) will only work with Event Level emails, such as Confirmation or Reminder emails, or emails sent to an Event Attendees mailing list from RegMail. Using any other mailing list type in RegMail (custom, uploaded, filtered, etc.) will cause an email job with this merge code in the email content to fail.
